UPDATED REGULARLY

This space is for real questions from families—about evaluations, therapy, school, siblings, burnout, and everything in between. A Place for the Questions That Keep Parents aand Families Awake at Night.

This is also a space for stories, questions, and guidance for the long journey of parenting — especially for families navigating autism, emotional, behavioral, communication, developmental, school, and family challenges. Parenting can sometimes feel like being out at sea, where the waters are rough and parents keep going anyway, trying to find direction, hope, and solid ground for their child and family. Because parenting was never meant to be done alone, this space was created for families finding their way home — through letters from the long journey of raising children, and through thoughtful, compassionate, research-informed guidance for the realities of childhood and family life.

For many families, parenting a child with developmental, emotional, behavioral, communication, or school-related challenges can sometimes feel like living on the edge of the world — navigating uncertainty, difficult decisions, and experiences that may feel isolating or overwhelming at times. This space was created for parents who carry questions they rarely say out loud, and we strongly encourage families to ask honest and courageous questions about anything that may be concerning them — including concerns about controversial topics in ABA, quality of treatment or evaluations, difficult or negative past experiences with providers or schools, special education and IEP concerns, advocacy and legal questions, family stress, emotional challenges, and the many complicated realities families often think about privately but do not always feel comfortable discussing openly.

Our family resource team reads every submission. We may respond privately when appropriate, and your submission may also be edited for length, clarity, and confidentiality before potentially appearing in The Knowledge Base from Aria Alessia Kids Center so that other families navigating similar experiences can learn alongside you.

Please note that we are not able to provide individualized medical, psychological, diagnostic, educational, or legal advice through this forum. Because we do not have the full background, developmental history, medical information, family context, or details specific to your child and situation, responses provided here will generally be broader, educational, and guidance-oriented rather than individualized recommendations. However, we still hope these responses can offer thoughtful direction, support, perspective, and helpful information for families navigating similar experiences. If you are seeking recommendations or support specific to your child or family situation, we encourage you to contact Aria Alessia Kids Center directly for personalized support.
